Install dumbsms

dumbsms is a desktop keyboard for your flip phone — threads, pictures, and group texts, all local. No account, no cloud, no telemetry.

This installer places dumbsms.app in your Applications folder and dumbsms-cli in /usr/local/bin.

Requirements

• macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
• Apple Silicon or Intel Mac (universal build)
• A supported flip phone (TCL Flip Go or Sonim XP3plus) for messaging — the Sonim is ~10× faster over Bluetooth (~15 K/s vs ~1.2 K/s on the TCL)

After installation, open dumbsms from Applications and grant Contacts access when prompted so thread names resolve locally on your Mac.
